Do you remember Tracie!? I was in love with her for the whole of 1983. She was surly, a bit older, someone to adore from afar. And then she was gone.
But now she's back! Here's her finest hour, now available on itunes at last.
I can't get this song out of my head since it popped up on the Word blog.
In (yet) another example of Southend Rocks - Tracie is now a DJ on a local radio station tune in and bliss out FC!
ReplyDeleteEven more brain-frying, I recently stumbled across Tracies rival on the cosy local BBC station, tearing it up on stage with Anarcho-punks Crass.. (also an Essex band)
So she's a DJ now...glad she's still doing something music-related.
ReplyDeleteEveryone I knew then had a mate called Tracie (or more usually, Tracey) who looked a bit like her.
ReplyDeleteYes it was, shall we say, a popular look.
ReplyDeleteAfter Word bloggery I was about to post that clip. I had the performance taped from the TV, along with Souls On Fire which I believe followed. Listened to that tape a few times I can tell you.
