Feeling much better today after an early night and some proper food. Sadly I missed out on what promised to be a fun get-together with The Woo and Planet Mondo, but I just wasn't up to it. So we'll reconvene in the New Year I hope.
I'm A Celeb... brushed by me again last night, and I just don't care for it. Am I alone? There are certain things it seems everyone likes but me.
For example:
Danny Baker. Pub bore with a lisp. Everyone else is really excited he's back on the radio this weekend, but I'd rather sit in silence.
Football. Leaves me totally cold. I'm not from a football supporting family - though my brother is the worst kind of middle-class Chelsea supporter. I tried to like it, and almost got semi-interested around the 1990 World Cup, when everyone got interested. But it wasn't to last. I've got other things I'd rather be doing. Fanaticism about it seems to have definitely dropped off this season on the whole, so that's a good thing. Must be cos England were no great shakes last year and everyone got over 'footy'. I hate how it's been totally taken over by the chattering classes.
Rice pudding. Everyone thinks everyone likes it. I don't, and neither does Mrs F-C. The skin that forms, the very thought of rice swollen in milk. It makes me gag just to think about it.
Gavin & Stacey. It's not just this, it's all comedy. I have a problem with it that I won't find it funny. I can't be forced to laugh at something, it's a terrible pressure. I tend to come late to comedy shows, and watch them at my leisure. Then I can decided in my own time whether it's funny or not. Don't hassle me on this one, otherwise I shall sit stony-faced throughout.
Praline. When did it happen that praline took over the chocolate world? I don't like it. I like fruit-flavoured soft centres, montelimar, marzipan etc. I'm a traditionalist. Praline is not classy or sophisticated, it's just horrid.
Walks. If you've got a dog or a child, fine. If not, why are you bothering. Dull, cold and tiring. I'd rather have a sit down. I'm not mad on picnics either.
