The north wind shall blow, and we shall have snow and other stories

Five sayings I do believe to be true:

A stitch in time saves nine: Or 99. Whatever, but it's true.

Ne'er cast clout til May is out: I didn't bring a coat today, and it's quite chilly. Don't get too comfortable when the sun comes out in May, as the next day it will be cold.

Pride comes before a fall: I've seen it far too often for it not to have the ring of truth about it.

If wishes were horses, beggars would ride: And how

Kind words butter no parsnips: Not really sure about this one, but generally, the meaner you are, the more you get in life, or so the saying would have you believe.

And five I don't:

All's fair in love and war: No it isn't.

Look before you leap: Depends. A ravine, a puddle, a crevice, yes. Taking a few risks in life. No.

Why keep a dog and bark yourself?: Akin to slavery.

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may: Until next year's crop.

Laugh and the world laughs with you, cry and you cry alone: Not necessarily. It depends if you got good friends or not.
