It's my last week at work now until well after Easter. We're off to Japan for our 10th wedding anniversary. And hasn't it gone quickly. We always go away for it, but this year we thought we'd go farther afield.
My poor wife flew in from Chicago this morning where she's been all week at an orthopaedic surgeons show. A week back at work for her, then another long-haul flight. But she's used to it. She's got her DVT socks.
It's weird when she's away. It's quite nice having your own space and going at your own pace, but it's kind of lonely at times. Weekdays aren't so bad as I come home from work, watch a bit of telly and go to bed, or else if I'm out then get home and fall into bed. But the weekends are strange. Going to the supermarket on my own or yomping round Bluewater, etc, is what it would be like to be on my own. We've been together for so long (15 years in all), that it would be very hard to imagine life without her. Let's hope it doesn't happen for quite some time.
