Five-Centres is unwell

I've not been at all well. Proper full-on think-I'm-going-to-die flu has floored me for a week. Only today am I back at work and I still don't feel 100 per cent. I think it must have been bird flu - there can be no other explanation. I couldn't eat, I couldn't watch TV, I couldn't read, I couldn't stand up, I was shaking, sweating, cold, hot, nauseaous, couldn't taste anything, etc. I've not smoked for seven days and lost eight pounds in weight, so something good came out of it.

That aside, when I could focus on the telly, what a hideous, depressing shit pool daytime TV has become. Take This Morning. Irritating beyond belief, Phil and Fern preside over such things as giving carers makeovers, the world's fattest man becoming a style guru, cookery with Leslie Phillips (where the phrase 'ding dong' was tiresomely overused), etc. Who watches this shit? Otherwise, it's the news on a loop, Doctors (which is actually okay) and the Channel 4 afternoon quizzes.

I ended up watching DVDs. I'm glad to be back at work.

Glad to see you back. I thought Jeremy Kyle would have been enough to actually will yourself better, rather like a TV placebo effect.

Thanks Rich. Jeremy Kyle shocked me in his insincerity and his telling everyone how 'brave' they were. It tripped out of his mouth and he didn't even reaslising he was saying it half the time.
