Summer lovin'

Seeing as it's kind of summer today - even though the forecast is predicting cold weather next week - I spun the wheel to B*witched's late 90s smash C'est La Vie, surely the summeriest song ever. Then the moment I arrived at work I found the video on Youtube and yes, it really is the summeriest song ever. Of course, my favourite bit is the faux Riverdance in the middle eight. Who hasn't fantasised about actually doing this?

No one? Just me then.

Anyway, whatever happened to B*witched? Four number ones in a row, then? I once saw them performing at the MTV Awards in Dublin in 1999, but rather than being part of the show, which included Mariah Carey (with her entourage of 20 - we had to clap her when she came into the press room which we didn't have to do for anyone else), Puff Daddy, Ronan Keating, Eminem and Mary J Blige, they were on a small stage outiside The Point centre doing Jesse Hold On and other hits. Local girls in MTV snub. And I think that may have been the last I ever heard of them.

They released a second album that sank without trace and were subsequently dropped. Oh dear, I seem to know an awful lot about B*Witched don't I?

C'est la Vie was a very good pop record, wasn't it?

I think I read recently that the two sisters were trying to launch an internet business. Or it might have been a beauty salon. Or a chippie.
