Of course once we'd watched the Apprentice we just had to see who was going into the Big Brother house. All women, quite a good twist. Mostly late teens/early 20s with odd oldie thrown in for good measure. The Virginia Ironside lookalike may be interesting.
Anyhoo, we were watching with a friend who screamed 'I know her!' when the awful Carol walked through door. He worked with her for a year and apparently she's vile, needy, will lecture to death and be hugely unpopular. He was thrilled. There could be money in this. He wasn't going to watch it and now he's going to be glued.
We won't be watching again but for this reason only it will be interesting to see how it develops. But it's a funny moment when someone knows someone on the most talked about show in Britain.

I too only watch them go in, just so I can keep a vague handle on the zeitgeist for the next two months. The fact that Carol is a bisexual, right-on, unemployed youth education worker is enough to get on my tits already. I like Laura, but she seems too nice to go all the way.
