Sometimes I drive to work, sometimes I don't. I know I shouldn't cos of carbon emissions and all, but it's just so convenient - I've got a space right under the building! And besides, I don't live on a Tube line and have travel to my nearest one, which is hot and crowded.
If you disapprove however, you'll be glad to know it's more stressful than its worth. Everyday I kill at least three cyclists, who are overtaking me on the inside at right and left hand turns, even though I'm signalling. Or they're sailing through the lights just as they turn green on my inside right hand side and get terribly huffy if I dare to chide them.
Then there are the cars who won't allow you to filter in turn, or let you out of a junction and if you do slip by them at the traffic lights they then overtake you really fast so as they can get back in front of you again. I tell you, you've got to be as aggressive as everyone else on the roads of London or you just don't stand a chance. But how did it become like this? Everyone's in a rush (including me) and everyone thinks they have the right of way. No one's flexible anymore.
It's all go! If I don't use at least 75 expletives and feel I'm going to have a heartattack with rage on the way into work then I feel cheated. Is this good for me?
I prefer it to the Tube.

I'm not even going to make a reasoned reply, I feel exactly the same way. Even driving in a backwater like little old Newark makes me want to rip people's heads off and.
It's like the old Dave Allen routine; if somebody walked past you on the street, you wouldn't get angry and try and catch them up to get in front of them again, would you?
I'm becoming more of a believer in Top Gear host, James May's, 'Christian driving' technique. You know, letting people out, obeying speed limits etc. It makes you feel better, people like you and you seem to move along a lot quicker. I like James May.
Okay, that turned into a reasoned reply.
Being forgiving can come in very useful on the roads. I might try it.
I'm with Rich. Put some nice music on and fuhgeddaboutit. Mind you, I did once knock over a tourist in Cambridge.
The trouble here is this: Clair teases us with a story and then never elaborates. It's Chris Difford all over again.
I don't think that being forgiving on the roads would make me feel any better - I think I would just become more frustrated.
