Am I dreaming?

I can't find a link, but I was horrified to read a story in the News Of The World yesterday, saying that Gordon Brown had asked GMTV donut Fiona Phillips to become a government minister in the health department. If it wasn't November I'd think it was an April fool it's so utterly ludicrous.

Frankly, things would have come to a pretty pass if TV's dimmest woman was put in any position of responsibility. She turned down Brown's generous offer because the money wasn't enough. Thank God for that.

It's bad enough he even considered her in the first place. Is he bonkers?

It's enough to make you lose faith in the government completely.

Scary, isn't it?
Is this what the government thinks is the common touch? This woman is pretty universally loathed by anyone who has an opinion on anything at all.

I'd already decided that I couldn't vote for GB. This just cements it.

He's blowing it a little bit more day by day, isn't he?

I reckon, unfortunately, she'd be popular. Look at well those GMTV ladies have fared - with very little talent or aptitude - on Strictly Come Dancing and Just the Two of Us.

Why doesn't he ask someone from a community scheme in the Gorbals to be in his Cabinet? Oh, I know, because they're not famous. If Gordon's reading this, I'd do it for the salary offered. Whaddyasay, Gordy?
