"I'm a dancer! I love to dance!"

Daft cow.

I hate that advert. You know, the big-budget Chanel one that's been doing the round every Christmas for years, in which Nicole Kidman plays an enigmatic yet troubled movie star who just wants to get away from it all. It took me at least 10 watches before I realised there was actually a story, and it was all CGI bollocks. I find Kidman irritating, and that unshaven dolt she cops off with on the roof of what appears to be some skyscraper in 1930s New York is beyond parody.

On the other hand, my current favourite advert is the M&S one where Take That go to Twiggy's house for Christmas, and it's snowing.

That fox who creeps downstairs in her peignoir would make my Christmas, and anywhere Myleene is I'm happy to be. I have to say though, Take That are no good advert for the clothes. Mark Owen looks like Eddie Waring in that trilby, and Gary has never been a style icon. Ever.

But it looks like fun. I love Twiggy.

No Wonder of Woolies ads this year. Shame. I remember one marathon effort with Anita Harris on ice skates from yesteryear. That's what Christmas was all about, wasn't it? Not a reed thin boyish actress being paid trillions to advertise a scent.

Personally, I miss the old Ronco ads that always used to appear at this time of year. Handy gadget for getting the fluff off sweaters, anyone?

I think Neomie Lenoir doesn't have any proper clothes, as all you ever see her in are her undercrackers and brassiere.
She's married to a footballer, you'll be glad to hear.

Oh. That's ruined it all for me.

I can't wait to see the Christmas ad for Spindles bistro (probably shown only at the Bath Alhambra before the second feature), which will be a cine-film record of a festively jumpered FC and Mrs FC shaking hands with seasonal diners in front of the Spindles Christmas tree.

Most of these La-di-da perfume ad's full of stone face frowners get right on my pips with their pretensions.. but I was weaned on Censored and Hai Karate ad's, and even bought a bottle of Censored hoping to be dragged into a booth by some fruity female (I was only 10 at the time).

This is more like it

PS - did you ever hear the myths about the US container design?

I remember that ad, Pm, and always wondered why a band would sing a song about a deodorant.

Like you, it was Hai Karate, Pagan Man and Denim all the way.

These days I really am a man who doesn't have to try - too hard.

I always wanted some Andron. "For Man...and WO-man."

I thought it would double my chances. In fact it probably would have slashed them by half. I was better off with my Buttoneer, in retrospect.

And I've yet to meet the man who fancies Nicole Kidman.

This one starts with Boots and finishes with Woolworths, featuring Rula Lenska complete with festive whip.

Oh and if Naomi Lenoir was resident in my house I'd turn the heating up to the max as well.
