Wedding Disco 2

As soon as I think I've got it sorted, something pops into my h ead that I simply must add to the list.

So with only a week to go, here's the updated version with - and I use this word advisedly - added 'cheese'. I'll probably have to lose about five of these to make the timing right, so your thoughts please:

Need You Tonight/INXS
You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)/Dead or Alive
Dancing With Myself/Generation X
In Between Days/The Cure
She Sells Sanctuary/The Cult
Rocks/Primal Scream
Pump It Up/Elvis Costello
Teenage Kicks/The Undertones
Cool For Cats/Squeeze
Gangsters/The Specials
Israelites/Desmond Dekker & The Aces
Green Onions/Booker T. & The MG's
These Boots Are Made For Walking/Nancy Sinatra
Bits and Pieces/The Dave Clark Five
(I Can't Get No) Satisfaction/The Rolling Stones
Queen Bitch/David Bowie
Jungle Rock/Hank Mizell
Nutbush City Limits/Ike & Tina Turner
Knock On Wood/Amii Stewart
Doin' the Do (7" Radio Mix)/Betty Boo
Footloose/Kenny Loggins
Spirit In the Sky/Doctor & The Medics

Atomic/Blondie Atomic
Enola Gay/Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark
The Sound Of The Crowd/Human League
Just Can't Get Enough/Depeche Mode

definietly more "user-friendly" than the first one! You need a bit of cheese at a wedding. Good luck with it.

I think that's a pretty ace list. I don't know danceable 'Connection' is though? It's easily replaced with 'Dancing Queen' or 'Come on Eileen' you know... or 'Alright' by Supergrass!!

Will the bride forgive you for leaving out Def Leppard?

She's going to have to, but you just can't dance to it.

Connection's a stomper!

Hello, what about some Jam, Eton Rifles or something?

I did toy with that OP, but I find it way too hard to dance to. I looked at all Jam and I've never been able to dance to A Town Called Malice, so decided against it. It's too fast and thrashy.

I hate it, but immediately thought of 'Hi Ho Silver Lining'. And 'Contact' by Edwin Starr. And 'Mighty Real' by Sylvester.

Though that last one's not really cheesy. I agree with you that you can't dance to the Jam (with the possible exception of 'Precious'). Doesn't stop people (blokes) from trying, generally.

I've got a mental image of you trying to dance to each of these in turn, FC, then crossing them off on a clipboard when you realize they don't cut it.

I think you could lose "The Sound Of The Crowd" and "Queen Bitch" fairly easily, mainly because I don't think I've ever heard of them.

Two classics Kitten. Queen Bitch is classic glammish Bowie and very danceable, and Sound Of The Crowd may actually bite the bullet, as marvellous as it is.

And as for the dancing - I'm just glad there's no webcam at home.

I reckon substitute Just Can't Get Enough for New Life. The former's been done to death and you don't hear the latter enough.
