We did rather well out car boot sale on Sunday. We sold loads of old junk and raked in the cash. The only downside was the heat - Mrs F-C almost had a stroke.
As we too it in turns to trawl the stalls for interesting things we might want to take home, I got the thinking about compilation CDs. I'm on the hunt for old comp CDs that may contain tracks that are impossible to find on CD, itunes, Amazon, etc. There are loads of things I've got or had on vinyl, songs I really like but can't find, like I Will Survive by Arrival or The Lightning Tree by the Settlers. I have them on vinyl that's now MP3, but they're crackly and faint. So isn't it time these lost gems were gathered together?
Well, if no one else is going to do it, then it's going to have to be me. So on Spindles Records & Tapes, here's the first release.

Something has gone on with Don Henley - I've been trying to find 'The Boys of Summer' for ages without success. Also 'The Lone Ranger' by Quantum Jump.
You've opened up a whole avenue of things I didn't realise I haven't got but now suddenly need. That's the thing with boot fairs - you go along hoping to offload all your junk, and come back with bits of everyone else's.

I'm very intrigued by The Pop Hits That Don't Exist. What sort of thing is that, then? "The Floral Dance 2: Where Have All the Flowers Gone"? "No Lyrics" by 2Unlimited? "Brandy-Glass Kitten (You'll Be A Psychotic Spinster Soon)"?

I've got Move On off an ancient LP, Mondo. I liked Streetplayer/Mechanick too.
The Lone Ranger I got off one of those awful Vintage Cheese albums, ISBW. But Don Henley you won't find anywhere for some reason.
I see from Amazon that The Very Best of Don Henley is out in a few weeks time. This may explain his recent unavailability.
For your delectation: Dracula's Tango.
Lightning Tree and Bergerac were both included on different volumes of the nineties compilation series The A-Z Of British TV Themes (on the Play It Again label). All of them well worth picking up!
