An albatross around my neck

It's been a while. I'm flattered that people keep asking me where I've been and even if I'm alright.

There's a simple explanation. I can't think of a thing to say. The other day I had a great idea for a blog post but the next day it had slipped my mind and remains at large. Just as well. This blog, as much as I have enjoyed it, is like having an essay hanging over your head. Even after 900 posts, with no inspiration, that's how it feels.

So I've not shut up shop, but - and I never thought I'd say this - I quite like the immediacy of Twitter, even though you're tweeting into thin air most of the time and no one who I want to know who I am knows who I am, if that makes sense, but at least you don't feel beholden.

Is that how other bloggers feel, seeing as no one blogs regularly anymore?

I want to blog, I just haven't had time. Work is taking over my life.

I'm still not sure about Twitter either. I do like the immediacy of it, but the word count and the fact that I tweet for work puts me off doing anything more.

And people do still blog regularly, you know. Mondo, Piley, Matthew Rudd, David Hepworth and Red Scarlach are all prolific as they ever were...

Having a theme of music has been the key for me, pretty much anything can be fitted round this: new tunes, old favourites or personal bits and bobs like Dear Diary etc..also means there's a constant stream of inspiration.

Having said that I found my 1980 Radio One calendar last weekend and don't know whether to blog or not - although there's probably more in it, we've done a one year run and perhaps that's enough.

Twitter. I'm sort of getting the shape of it, but at the mo', feels like nattering your way through a powercut.

I'm too busy at the minute to blog, for which I apologise to my adoring public. Got a post in waiting an'all.
Twitter's starting to get on my wick; do I really need the minutiae of X Factor, I'm a Celeb and Question Time on my feed? No, I think not.

I want to blog more often too, but am basically just having a bit of a shit time and don't want to be someone who blogs about having a shit time. I've thought about Twitter - even got as far as opening an account - but have never posted on it. It just all seems a bit too frenetic for my tastes. And there's a competitive element to it that doesn't appeal. So for now I'm a Bad Blogger and Facebook Feeder. It'll have to do until I cheer up a bit.

Hope that will be sooner rather than later, ISBW. Hope all is well.

If this is it, I just want to say that this...

...is one of my favourite things on the internet ever.
