Let it all out

Aren't the Tindersticks marvellous. Such a richness to that voice. There are times when Stuart Staples very nearly falls into Vic Reeves pubsinger territory, but he always manages to redeem himself. Their songs are works of quiet genius and I'm always surprised how many people haven't heard of them.

I was introduced to them by a friend of mine, who put them on and made me listen. Normally, this kind of method makes me dig my heels in, not listen and therefore instantly dislike what I'm being forcefed. It's the same when someone tells me I'll really like someone as we're so similar, and you stand there not being able to think of single thing to say and mildly embarrassed at being thrown together this way.

However on this occasion I did hear hte music and I was completely taken aback by how fantastic it was. I love the song Patchwork - it makes me want to cry, or go to bed early on a rainy night and pull the duvet around me in a cosy way, with just a low light on. Try it.
