No one could care less about Hazel O'Connor, which is fair enough, but what are you enjoying on the telly at the moment.
You may have seen C4's Cape Wrath last night. I got the preview DVD a few weeks ago and watched it then. I was in two minds, as I thought it was great but a bit too odd for its own good. Mrs F-C hadn't seen it so I watched it again with her and she loved it and I thought it was much better second time around. Those first eps always suffer from so much scene-setting, but I think it's a great premise with some interesting characters and I hear gets better and more intriguing as the weeks go by. In America they're calling it Meadowlands, which is an equally good title. I do like Lucy Cohu, I think she's magnetic. I will be sticking with this one. Very Twin Peaks, very Desperate Housewives.
We're also enjoying True Dare Kiss. Good to see Dervla Kirwan back on telly, in not just any drama, but a finely-crafted, multi-layered, well-casted and acted drama by Debbie Horsfield, covered in a summer berry coulis. I find Paul McGann quite irritating as an actor though. He's so thin, it's desperately unfair. Lorraine Ashbourne is fantastic as the football hooligan sister. She's married to Andy Serkis you know.
Other telly treats are few - I liked Classic Brittania on BBC4 (always showing something of interest) and The Tower, squirrelled away in a graveyard slot on BBC1 is ace. Good to see Wire In The Blood back tonight, surely Robson Green's finest hour. Otherwise I've got a Sky+ full of Pie In The Sky to get through and the second half of Jericho, which is enjoyable tosh, and the last bit of The Sopranos. Plus there's still season 3 of The Wire to get through, and while Mrs F-C sits by lakes and mountains at a conference centre in the heart of Finland, I shall be polishing that one off.

I'm in a bit of a TV slump at the moment, frankly. I finished watching Heroes, which was very entertaining to the end, so now I've got the requisite wait to see whether it stays good in series 2.
As a fan of macho histrionics, I'm rather enjoying Last Man Standing - it's a bit like The Apprentice meets some nutters on a gap year being beaten up with big sticks.
I didn't see Cape Wrath but will give it a go later in the week (I love having a TV catch-up facility). Other than that, it's repeats of Sex and the City...
Not having a Freeview recorder box, if I'm not in, I miss stuff, so I'm a TV commitment-phobe at the moment. I tried True Dare Kiss but all a bit grand guignol for me.It's all I can do to keep up with Casualty. I like a juicy one or two parter drama, or a one-off doco on BBC Four. Also, I feel that Sarah Parish ought to be in everything as she's so great.
I think Paul McGann looks ill. I read on Holy Moly that Joe McGann is now making sarnies to earn a crust (ha ha), which is a shame, as he's a good comic actor. Looks better than Paul, too.
But now you can watch Heroes all over again, Kitten. Chances are series 2 won't be that great, you just know it.
True Dare Kiss should have had Sarah Parish in it, but instead we've got Pooky Quesnel doing an impression of her. But she's no less good for that.
I find I can't watch True Dare Kiss without yelling "Pooky Quesnel! Pooky Quesnel!" at the screen, which rather detracts from being able to get into the drama.
What kind of a name is Pooky Quesnel, anyway? It's certainly up there with Sylvestra le Touzel and Googie Withers...
Series 3 of The Wire is the best so far, in my opinion. LOVE the Omar stuff – although he is a bit of a broad character for the series. Ace, though. Have you ever read any George Pelecanos novels? Kinda trashy-but-good crime things. Anyway, he's executive producer on The Wire from series 3 (he also wrote a few episodes of the earlier series) and you can really see his influence. Check the books out – great holiday reads, if you like that sort of thing.
On the cop drama tip, I love The Shield. Trashier than The Wire, but pleasingly gritty all the same – and downright funny at times. Just gutted that Forest Whitaker seems to have left the current series after just a couple of episodes. Booo!
I don't care for Cape Wrath, judging by last night's episode. A bit too try-hard quirky for my liking. All felt a bit too ITV rather than the HBO it so desperately wants to be.
I've tried with The Shield but I can't get into it. I don't like the Ross Kempesque main actor.
Give Cape Wrath another go Squirrel, I'm sure you won't be disappointed.
I haven't got any must-sees at the moment, not until the second half of the final series of The Sopranos comes to C4. I started watching The Time Of Your Life, which wasn't bad, but I've missed two episodes in a row now and I may not bother trying to catch up.
Oh, and The Thick Of It last week was brilliant as ever.
Apart from that I rely on the joys of surfing the EPG. I've been watching a lot of Family Guy on FX, and Mrs T and I enjoy occasional repeats of The Professionals on ITV4.
I quite fancied watching Cape Wrath but it is on a bit late for me and I can't tape Channel 4 (a very long story but related to living in the sticks). I noticed that it got a very bad review in The Metro but I'm not sure if that means a lot or not.
