I see in the latest ABCs, the celeb titles have taken a bit of a knock. Heat and Closer are both down year on year.
Does this mean Britain's love affair with celebrity is over at last?
Big Brother's been a disaster and it's showing in the paucity of Heat covers. Please let this be an end to celebrity culture, and let's get back to normal.

I fear there will be no end to crap celebrities until someone chances upon a national obsession to replace them with. However, I think you may already have stumbled upon the very theme - linguistic pedantry! As your posting frenzy proved, the public cannot get enough of it. The time is ripe to cash in on the (dreadful, but we'll ignore that) Eats, Shoots and Leaves craze. I'm telling you, it's the new Sudoku...
Linguistic Pedant! magazine has a certain je ne sais quoi, doesn't it? But sadly, I still think it would have to have "Jordan's Fave Split Infinitives!" in it, as I fear the world is still obsessed with stars, but is just buying less magazines (with certain Choice exceptions) as most of them are apppalling.
Who knows, there might be something in a plain English magazine. Who knows?
I'm convinced, though, the celeb bubble will burst. Eventually.
A good war might do it? Anyone up for invading Scotland?
You could try VS but we would just frighten you with terrible spelling, punctuation and pronounciation and you would be back over the border again before you could say "Gonnae no dae that, jist gonnae no!"
RETREEEEEEEEEEEAT !
Clair's right, F-C – Heat and Closer may be down, but so's virtually every other mag. They're still ranked 7 and 8 in the country, which I think proves celebrity obsession lives on. Sorry.
I do quite like the idea of replacing all those "Look, a celeb looking slightly podgy or imperfect!" articles with features that mock the appalling grammar and spelling of Z-listers. I bet Kerry Katona has no idea about how to use apostrophes, for a start...
I saw Heat yesterday, a 'world exclusive' by Chanelle. Pass me my revolver...
