Big Blue Marble

A post here by Little Johnny Jewel, made me wonder who's looking from around the world. To my utter surprise I see this blog is read in places like Tunisia, the UAE, Indonesia, Japan, Finland, Germany, Brazil, Chile, Sweden, Mexico and Malaysia, as well as many readers in Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the USA.

Interestingly, it seems I have a regular reader from Beverly Hills. I'm imagining you gazing at the Five-Centres world on your laptop by your pool. Am I right? Don't shatter my illusions. Perhaps you are Jerry Seinfeld or Charlize Theron. Or Ellen Degeneres or John Cusack. You could be a top-notch movie mogul looking for film ideas and the film of the blog is just what you're after.

So John Cusack will be playing me, as he's my favourite actor (who looks nothing at all like me), and he'll be a 42-year old London based-blogger who eats non-fattening yoghurts, hates celebrity culture, hoodwinks his wife into paying the Congestion Charge and is constantly picking cat hairs out of every garment he owns, while holding down a top-notch job at the top of the media tree. It's a hit, I can just tell. Have your people call, er, me.

Anyway, whoever you are, I'm thrilled to be read in Beverly Hills. In fact, I'm thrilled to be read anywhere, whether you're in Berlin, Swift Current (sounds relaxing), Marseilles, Dublin, Trumbull, Adelaide or Budapest, you're all welcome.

It goes without saying.

Well, I might live in Washington DC now, but I'm originally from beautiful downtown Lewisham.

So we've had the Five-Centres film, then. Can we please have details of the Five-Centres ITV1 sitcom, please? With Mrs FC played by that woman out of Colin's Sandwich (not that I'm suggesting a physical similarity between the two, more that That Woman Out Of Colin's Sandwich could capture the essence of your better half as portrayed here... although, said actress is maybe a bit old now... and this paragraph is creaking under the weight of my indecision).

Louisa Rix. I see what you mean. Long-suffering, impatient, etc.

I'm a shoo-in for Mel Smith.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who remembers Colin's Sandwich. One of the great underrated sitcoms, IMHO. I bet it's not available on DVD.

The bloody internet, eh?

Wow - a mention of Colin's Sandwich. That brings back many long forgotten memories.

Personally I'm looking forward to the Digicream blog being adapted into a pithy topical replacement for Sunday AM.
