Desperate filler

Not that I've got delusions of grandeur or anything (no, really), but I saw this here, and I thought seeing as I've nothing to blog about at the moment that doesn't involve the music of 1971, it seemed like quite a good idea.

So go on then, ask me anything.

I'm waiting.

What question are you most hoping that someone will ask?

What post on here has given you the most satisfaction, on whatever level?

ARE you Boris Johnson?

Do you have any plans to buy any more furniture from Mary Tamm?

Beth - Anything will do. Nothing in particular

FR - The ones that get the most comments.

ISBW - Yes

Chris - I'm always in the market for TV stars' cast-offs.

What did you for the Silver Jubilee?

Well Matt, we had a street party. Can't remember much about it except that it was loads of fun, there was tons of food and my uncle fell off his chair.

How did you come to buy a table from Mary Tamm in the first place? Did you meet her somewhere and randomly offer you a table, or did you go to collect a table from a small ad and think "hang on, haven't I seen you in the Tardis?"

My wife won it on eBay, and the seller said he'd deliver it. He told us his wife worked at Northcote Road antiques market in Clapham and we should stop by and say hello, as it was her father who had made the table and she was very fond of it.

So when we did, we realised the wife was in fact Mary Tamm.

Who's Mary Tamm?

And, if I may be so bold...

What makes Doctor Who great?

Five-Centres said...

She was in Romana.

Why is it so great? I can't answer that, not being a superfan. I like it, but I can take it or leave it.

(1) When are you opening your bistro?

(2) And how, if you're not on more than nodding terms with The Doctor, are we all going to get back to 1971 to hang around in it all day?

OK then.

Lions or Tigers?

I was ruminating about my bistro only this morning, OP. I need some Life On Mars type thing to happen to me.

Beth - Tigers, most definitely.

I would quite like to see F-C in some kind of Life On Mars scenario, where he gets hurled back in time run a bistro with Richard O'Sullivan, Tessa Wyatt, Tony Britton and that one-armed Irish bloke. I'd pay to see that.

Kind of Life On Deep-Fried Mars.

I'll get me coat.

Well done. 'Tigers' is right.

Maybe it could be Robin's Nest Of Tables, whereby each week Robin F-C experiences the ups and downs of running a bistro with his sideline business of dealing in occasional furniture with prominent TV actresses of the late 1970s and early 1980s.

This week: there's trouble afoot for Robin when Rosalyn Landor's ottoman isn't all what it seems.

Five-Centres said...

I'm liking your idea Chris.

Next week: The hunt is on for Noele Gordon's whatnot. And Lally Bowers is in for a shock when she takes delivery of a harpsichord.

Robin's Never Being The Nest of Acorn's Twain, where F-C gets into big trouble trying to age Mrs Slocombe's drawers and is revived by a strong cup of tea and a fancy cake from Mrs Overall.

I'm losing my mind here.

Who's going to win Super League in 2008?

Er, Hull?

Matthew Rudd said...

Heh. Don't worry, I don't know either.
