Having no original ideas of my own, in the main, I notice Clair's doing the songs you never tire of.
I've blogged before of the songs that I'm bored off, truly hate or that remind me of certain things and times in my life but this particular avenue has yet to be explored.
So here it is. Ten songs I can still listen to any day of the week without tuning out a minute in.

Damn me for forgetting Living By Numbers, a song that I also find strangely emotional. And the bit where the woman goes 'they don't want your NAYYME' is great, too. In a Pony Express mode, I also never tire of Dancing On A Saturday Night by Barry Blue.
I love the Jools Holland on piano (is it the album one? )version of Uncertain Smile.
And I've never seen the Plastic Bertrand picture sleeve before. Result.
I love Uncertain Smile. Jools Holland's piano is just incredible.
That'd could well be in mine too.
I must fly in the face of fashion here, and say I can't bear Jools Holland's piano, so the version I love is the single version rather than the album one.
Well if we all liked the same thing, it'd be a shite place to be.

I think you're in a minority on the Jools Holland piano solo, which is the best piano solo on a rock/pop record ever in the history of the world, as any fule kno.

Well F-C, 'bewitched' (sigh), we're discovering new things about you every day. I can't begin to write a list as it would take forever but songs I do listen to over and over are:

Etta James - Fire
Shangri-las - Circles
Not all hits though are they, does that matter?
C'est La Vie is the sound of summer, Empress.
Pulling Mussels From a Shell is, for me, Holland's finest moment on the old Joanna.
I do apologise five-centres, we appear to be turning this post into a Jools Holland discussion spot.
My 11 year old nieces are so retro, they don't seem interested in modern bands, they absolutely adore bewitched and even have their dolls which my brother bought for them last year on Ebay.
Maybe those girls are swimming the zeitgeist after all. Clever things.
I'm still with you on the Jools piano debate, 5C, though I'm getting some serious deja vu. You all should seek out the non-Jools extended version. It's far superior.
Anyone remember 'World of Water' or 'Calling All The Heroes'? I'd rather forget them, but 'Living By Numbers' just gave me a flashback.
Can I just throw in It's Coming by The Temptations and 4 Hours by Clock DVA and state, for the record, that Jools Holland's piano solo on Uncertain Smile is one of the finest musical interludes ever committed to tape?
Well if we're making suggestions, then I'd like to nominate 'Werewolves Of London' by Warren Zevon. It's the Rowntrees Fruit Pastels of songs. You can't not sing along to it.
With you on Werewolves and Clock DVA, but I'm afraid I'm just not a fan of the non-Jules version.
Computer Love by Kraftwerk has the same calming and mesmerising effect on me now as it did the first time I heard it. Those yearning, slightly creepy vocals and that hypnotic synth - perfect. One song I never, ever skip when my iPod's on 'shuffle'.
And Kraftwerk were prophetic. Which I suppose means you could ultimately blame them for the rubbish 'Match.com' adverts.
Walking through Paris one night (as you do), we were regaled with a raucous sing-a-long to "Ca Plane Pour Moi" from a 5th floor flat. Of course, we joined in.
I love Ca Plane Pour Moi, I even love Leila K's speed-disco cover of it, I love it that much. In fact I nearly posted up the Leila K version the other day, and I maybe still will.
I would like the Jools Holland piano solo more if I didn't know it was Jools Holland doing it, for some odd reason. Love 'Uncertain Smile', though.
