The best cover version ever?

I think this is my favourite cover version ever.

I'm a big fan of Dylan covers, nearly all of them are memorable; Too Much Of Nothing by Peter, Paul and Mary, Don't Think Twice (It's Alright) by Joan Baez, Mighty Quinn by Manfred Mann, etc.

Tell Him by Hello is another corker, and there are countless other covers that I can't instantly recall that I know I love, but it's this that wins out for me every time.

Ah, Neil 'n' Steve. Blackburn does Swedish nu-English. The cultural references are ace - Dallas, the craze for Chinese takeaways etc, but they changed the author of the bedtime book, didn't they?

It is a brilliant cover version. Good choice F-C.

Mine has always been A-Ha's version of Crying In The Rain. Try it, you might like it...

I do like that version. It's my favourite A-ha song.

And yes, the author in the original was Marilyn French. But I can only think of one book by her, so the 'latest one by Marilyn French, or something in that style' didn't really stand up.

Extraordinary. I don't care much for Baez myself, I like my folk to have a bit more edge. Predictably I love the Byrds' Mr Tambourine Man. Better than the original. Jose Feliciano does a mean Masters of War too.

Then there was Tom Watt's version of Subterranean Homesick Blues. Oh yes.

Good choice, but may I also recommend 'It's all over now baby blue' by the Chocolate Watch Band.
