There's a riot goin' on, apparently...

If you live outside London you'll probably not be aware that Parliament Square is currently being occupied by supporters of the Tamil Tigers. It's been going on for weeks now, and last night 21 police officers were injured in rioting. It's constantly closed off, something seems to happen every day and it's actually quite a big deal.

Or not. Even if you actually live in London you're probably unaware of this, as there seems to be what amounts to a total news blackout on it. Occasionally something may appear on a ticker tape on GMTV, or there might be a paragraph in the Evening Standard. But that's kind of it.

I can only assume it's because the Tamil Tigers being a recognised terrorist group means they're denying them the oxygen of publicity. I have no problem with that, but what I want to know is why are they still there? Can't they move them on? And is there a total news blackout? If anyone in the know is reading this, please put me out of my misery.

In the meantime, here's the Gap Band with a nice funk classic from '84.
