So who's affected by the volcano?
Mrs F-C is currently stranded in Barcelona after getting the last plane out of London on Thursday, and I know of at least six other people who are stuck in places like Dubai, Egypt, Denmark, San Francisco and New Zealand. But worst of all our cleaner's stuck in Poland. I mean for God's sake. I like a joke but really...
So does this mean shops will gradually empty? Will there be no more air mail? Will the skies remain empty until further notice? I live in the Heathrow flightpath and though they don't bother me you do hear the planes go over a lot, so it's blissfully quiet.
I guess we'll just have to sit and wait for the wind to change.

One of my friends is currently stuck in Argentina: she was supposed to be back at work today. And my parents were intending to go to Lanzarote last week, but couldn't.
I expected to find a banana shortage in the supermarket this morning, but there were loads left. Maybe bananas still arrive on boats?
Brother-in-law and family stuck in Florida, four friends rapidly running out of money in Gozo. But I just bought five large bananas and was charged £1.20 which still seems quite reasonable, so I presume we're not in danger of running out yet. Things not looking so good where asparagus is concerned, apparently.
Unaffected at the mo' - but I'm sure Survivors style economic horror and food pollution stories are sure to follow..
Very tempted to form a seventies rock covers band called Volcanic Ash - all the free promo and press mentions? Gotta be a winner
It's like Christmas Day 1914 when Tommy came out of the trenches to play football with the Germans. Normal(?) service will, no doubt, be resumed.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
... and I feel fine.
But we all like a good disaster don't we?!
Being stuck in San Francisco, I could easily handle that...
Friends stuck in Warrington wanting to go to Florida, friends stuck in Florida wanting to be in Warrington!! Has the world gone mad!!
I know, lucky old Mrs F-C can't get a flight until Sunday! How awful to be stuck in Barcelona. Tsk. It never happens to me.
