I'm from further north than you

I'm out of action this week. I've got to go to Manchester for work tomorrow until Friday, so I'll not be blogging for a bit.

That's good, as it might inspire me. My blogs two years old on Sunday, so perhaps next week there might be time to reflect.

I do like Manchester, and always enjoy my visits. The food's usually great, the people are super-freindly and it's got it all without the don't-bother-me edge of London. My only complaint would be that in some parts it's a mix of lonely buildings.

See you next week, as the Double Deckers used to sing at the end of the show.

Strange you should say that, I watched the Double Deckers theme tune on Youtube on Saturday.
Now, if only I could remember my password .....

I very much see F-C as Scooper.

I loooooooved this show as a child. Still love the them tune now. So much so it's a mainstay on my ipod.

And yes, Scooper would do as me.

No f**kin way! I can't believe I forgot about this little slice of tv magic!

Thanks for spurring my brain back into gear!

All I need now is to find Pitkins and Hartley Hare.

Debbie Russ, who was 'Tiger', went to my school. She was a few years above me, so that'd make her about 48 now. Scarey...

The closest I've got to knowing a tv personality was helping to pick up Scottish Television announcer Nicky Docherty after he slipped in pish and fell down in the toilets of 'The Dykes' pub in Stenhousmuir. Not exactly rock 'n' roll, I'll grant you that, but he was most grateful. Laughed my tits off all night after that.

PS. Nice Wedding Present reference, F-C. Their new album is being launched in Brighton in May. Woo-hoo!
