Getting it off my chest

Really can't be bothered to go into much blogging detail at the moment, so a few things in note form.

1. Fiona Phillips must die. I know I've said it before, but this time I really mean it. She's insufferable. This whole 'world's biggest Chelsea fan' schtick is irritating beyond belief. She's from Southampton for God's sake. I rarely watch GMTV, but knowing Fiona's in Moscow at the moment I tuned in just to get annoyed before Everybody Loves Raymond comes on, which is a nice calm start to the day. (Mrs F-C and I always have tea in bed watching ELR, then get up at Just Shoot Me). Needless to say, she didn't disappoint. There she was in Red Square, weh-heying with the Chelsea fans, her bias just unbelievable where the Utd fans were concerned. Cut to her asking the most inane questions at the press conference yesterday and the woman is a total embarrassment to Britain. Get her off our screens now!

2. I saw Anthony Hopkins yesterday while menu tasting at The Dorchester. I saw right through his scruffy old fisherman disguise. You can't fool me, Tony! And I saw Gok Wan getting out of a taxi.

3. If I see that Moonpig advert once more I will do something I won't regret.

4. I'm on a major diet.

I cringed under the duvet at Ms P this morning. And Kate Garraway's 'oooh, I'm coy but a right raver' schtick on Gordon Ramsay last night, too. Give me BBC Breakfast any day.

My diet tip is: stop finding pleasure in food. This is difficult for pork-pie enjoyers such as us, but not keeping food in the house helps in a major way. I had a sardine salad for lunch yesterday and ate it all, but enjoyed it not a jot.

Much as I loathe Fiona Phillips (in the few moments I've seen of GMTV I've never seen her express any interest in football before), it can't be stressed enough how irritating BBC Breakfast is.

I hate their stupid "discussions" - the other day, the subject was should Barack Obama have called a woman 'sweetie'? A lady plumber doesn't mind. Yasmin Alibhai-Brown thinks it's terrible. Addition to sum total of human knowledge: none.

Not to mention the non-stop barrage of banter with the weather girls and the bland sports blokes. Can we have the Channel 4 Daily back?

I find Sian Williams exceptionally annoying, the way she always turns to look at the male presenter and have a little chat. And that Scottish weathergilrl really gets on my wick.

Declan Curry is the only bright spark, but even he can grate.

And they spend far too much time reporting surveys as news stories. But it's still far preferable to GMTV.

Why do people watch TV in the morning anyway?

You should put the radio on in the morning.

I listen to the radio when I'm having breakfast, but I've got into the habit of watching the TV, and I find it quite relaxing. I listen to the radio when i get home, then put the telly on later.

Fiona Phillips is typical GMTV/ITV rubbish. Give me those nice BBC lot every time. They are so much kinder on the eye and are so 'proper'. I made the mistake of watching some of the ITV local news the other day and, BY THE HORNS OF SATAN, they were ugggllly!

Of course, it'd be very interesting to find out how long Phillips has been a fan of Chelsea for. As long as they've had Russian money and for as long as 'eye candy' like Lampard have been playing for them, I fancy.
I'd like to point out that, as it stands at the minute, Nottingham Forest have twice had their hands on the greatest prize in club football to Chelski's none.

So, that's you 'relaxed' is it!!

Stick the telly on, but leave the sound off & carry on listening to the radio. Unless AnnAtkins is on 'thought for the day', obviously. At that point chuck the wireless out the window.

Why do people watch TV?

Because there are some good programmes on; and the crap ones give you something to talk about at work.

There's nothing wrong with watching TV. If people didn't watch TV, I'd be out of a job!

I saw the Moonpig ad today. It made me laugh as I imagined you throwing an anvil at the telly.

You know, today is the first day in months i've not seen the Moonpig ad. Perhaps they're scaling down the campaign.
